75 minutes

This program is for adults who are passage meditators living, working, or interacting with children ages 0–18 on a regular basis.

You’ll have the opportunity to share warm, thoughtful satsang with other passage meditators who want to live out Easwaran’s message, “Give your children lofty ideals, and live them out yourselves.”

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, teachers, babysitters, neighbors, and family friends – you are all welcome!

The workshops take place three times a year and focus on one of the eight points each time. Each workshop includes a discussion forum and two weekly experiments. When you register, you’ll be invited to take part in these three aspects:

  • A video workshop: Meet with fellow participants and BMCM presenters in a 75-minute video workshop.
  • An online discussion forum: Share and discuss your experiments, challenges, and successes in a supportive satsang.
  • Small, practical experiments: Based on the topic, we'll be suggesting two small, practical experiments for you to try in the two weeks following the workshop.

This program is a good fit for you if you

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, teachers, babysitters, neighbors, and family friends are all welcome.

The standard fee is $10. The sliding scale is $0–$25.

Explanation of Sliding Scale

  • Our sliding scale means that you can choose the price that's right for you. If you can pay the standard fee, that will cover the cost of your retreat.
  • Please choose a lower fee if the standard fee is too much for you to afford.
  • If you add a donation to the standard fee, that will help others to attend – thank you!

The BMCM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All of our work is made possible by donations. While income from books and retreats covers a portion of our costs, everything we do depends on the generosity of those who benefit from Easwaran’s teachings.

Each dollar paid over the standard fee is a tax-deductible contribution. We keep all donations and fee payments confidential.

BMCM’s family program is an invitation to explore in more depth what a spiritual fellowship of parents, teachers and grandparents can actually do when we consciously engage Easwaran’s teachings and exercise the 8 points. Connections I made with some of the other participants have continued, and their determination and perspectives inspire me still.

Rosemary, Floyd, Virginia

This class always gives me great ideas for how to share high ideals with my child, through the content, and through the other participants. I feel encouraged and emboldened to try these ideas with my family, in daily life. And I'm often pleasantly surprised at the positive reception by my daughter.

Nancy, Seattle, Washington

This program is deeply inspiring, warmly supportive, practical, and creative. It helps me keep my highest ideals in mind, for myself, my meditation practice, and my family. I end the program each year feeling refreshed and uplifted, and hopefully a better mom and grandma!
